Scrappy Coaster DIY

A few weeks ago, I posted a video story highlight of a scrappy coaster DIY. I thought a post with step-by-step photographs would be a good compliment for anyone interested in trying it out for themselves. It's a really easy, practical, and fun project that you could finish in less than an hour. If you're a quilter or sewist, I bet you won't need to buy anything to make these. I also think it's a great gift item to give a set of 4-6.  Materials Needed: Scraps of fabric at least 1 inch in widthScrap quilt battingFeltThreadChalk markerFabric scissorsGlassware for...

I looked at a few t-shirt quilt guides on Pinterest, but honestly didn't see a whole heck of a lot that was super informative or thorough so...

Things I've Made: The Rainbow Quilt

Merry Christmas Eve Eve! Now that most of my gifts have arrived at their destinations, it's safe to start sharing more and more of what I made this year. My rainbow chevron quilt for my niece was absolutely my favorite! I saw this photo on Pinterest from Cluck Cluck Sew which was the original inspiration for this quilt. My niece is a super vibrant, funny person so a bright, happy quilt only seemed appropriate. Cluck Cluck Sew happens to be the same source of inspiration as my last quilt which is totally random since I just found them both on Pinterest! Her quilts are...

Frida Fridays: Fridita Doll

Posted by Emily Sacharow on

I've been really enjoying the process of doll making and have made a few since my first post. I knew that as soon as we started on this whole Viva La Frida Craft Swap fun that I would definitely be making Frida doll! My head spun in 20 directions when deciding which details would be best to include in the doll because Frida Kahlo had so iconic outfits. I tried looking at photos of the exhibit of her clothing and I picked out three elements to incorporate into the doll:1. geometric patterns2. lace3. flowers And yes when I'm making dolls I TOTALLY talk to...
